Yeah I am on Break.

Yeah!

I was thinking that spring break was going to be so fun and have so much free time that I would run out of things to do! I was wrong. When I got home all Saturday was spent playing Belegarth (Tedium I know) then Sunday was spent recuperating from Belegarth. Then my brother had a great idea and asked if I would help him paint for a couple'a days so I aquesed, not knowing (I should have) that we would be waking up a 7 AM. Yeah that is not what spring break is for. So then I spent today at Good Feet fixing their computers, and setting up a VNC connection for them.

Tomorrow I will be going in for an interview for a job for the summer, going to a V-Ball practice, and right after that I will be spending the entire night watching Harrison Ford movies with the guys. Yep 12 1/2 hours of Harrison Ford. From 8:30 PM to 9 AM. And yes I planned it. Good Job Jason.

Anyway I am entering this post for a program on my computer. not a web browser. Whop De Do right? Well when you are stuck on a DIE-L up connection, the little things matter.

Tora Tora Tora

Today was so cool! In Pastoral Pulpit Ministries class today we had a man come in and show us his collection of Jewish Scrolls. He also told us about them and showed us some slides and stuff, but he had one that survived the halocoust! It had been thrown into a Bible burning bondfire by the heathen Nazis, and after the fire was going strong, they left allowing the jews to come and salvage some. I even got to hold it!
Yeah very cool!

Selah Moments

An Idea came to me today as I was eating pizza. A selah moment!

A selah moment is when you stop what you are doing, pause, and reflect. Reflect about a facet of God. Something that you see in everyday life that shows you something more about God. Like seeing snow and wondering about the forgiveness of God, or seeing a sunset and reflecting on the short time we have to work in God's harvest field( the night commeth when no man can work). A "S.M." helps us to realize that the heavens DO declare the glory of God and to remember God in our daily lives.

But what if this were to be done by a youth pastor, for a teen group? The teens are at a bondfire activity and the youth pastor reminds the teens that God's Word is a consuming fire, or that our tongues are like a fire (What great a matter a little fire kindleth). Or they are on a missions trip to a big city, out shopping, the youth pastor stops them and shows them from the surrounding bustle how our lives can get so busy that we forget the important things, or that we can so easily become distracted by the world around us. What would this do to the teens sense of God's presence? Could this be done effectively, and what type of teen group would take to this the best?

Just a thought.

That is right Today was "Dairy Daze" at Maranatha. Nothing like a lunch of Eclaires, cheese curds, strawberry milk, and doughnuts. Yes indeed I can feel my arteries clogging as I type. And you wonder why I like Maranatha. Well Got to take a food coma... I mean nap.
